  1. Recreational Standards Met in Full

Use of the waves is only permitted if the user has already met and demonstrated ability of the full Recreational Performance Standard Criteria for skiing or snowboarding.

  1. Helmet Use is Mandatory

A correctly fitted helmet must be worn at all times while using the wave features—no exceptions. Users are responsible for checking fit and fastening securely.

  1. Confident with Terrain Variation

Must be able to confidently ski or ride over changes in gradient and surface profile, maintaining balance and control across all transitions on the wave section.

  1. Able to Absorb and React to Rolling Terrain

Must demonstrate the ability to safely absorb and respond to undulating terrain using proper body movement, stance, and technique (e.g., flexion/extension, pressure control).

  1. Maintains Flow and Control Through Features

Must be able to enter, ride, and exit the wave features smoothly, without stopping in hazardous positions, losing control, or interrupting the flow of other users.

  1. Shows Spatial Awareness and Timing

Must be able to judge distance, speed, and timing when entering the waves—especially when others are using the area—to avoid collisions or unsafe conditions.

  1. Uses Designated Entry and Exit Points

Must access and leave the wave section through clearly marked points only. Climbing back up through the feature or entering from the side is not permitted.

  1. Understands and Respects Wave Area Etiquette

Must follow all slope signage and verbal instructions from slope staff. Users must wait their turn, check the feature is clear before entering, and avoid lingering in landing or transition zones.

Note: These standards are in place for your safety and the safety of others. If you’re unsure about your ability to meet any of the above, we recommend booking a lesson with one of our qualified instructors before joining in on an activity that requires the criteria of this performance standard.
