Choice of Route
Choose your route carefully and be prepared to react to changes that other skiers and boarders may make as well as the slope itself.
Overtaking
Always provide a suitable amount of space for others to manoeuvre and remember that skiers and boarders ahead of you have right of way.

If this is necessary, keep to the side of the slope.
Respect for Signs and Markings
Always obey signs. They provide vital information for you and your safety.
Assistance
At accidents skiers and boarders must be prepared to help as it's everyone's responsibility to keep each other safe.
Identification
If you’re on a mountain, following an accident you should exchange contact information whether you are responsible or not.
The Code in Action
Take a look at the ski way code video from YouTube by Snowsport England which follows the simple guidance from the International Ski Federation.
Note: These standards are in place for your safety and the safety of others. If you’re unsure about your ability to meet any of the above, we recommend booking a lesson with one of our qualified instructors before joining in on an activity that requires the criteria of this performance standard.
